A full-day program led by IAOP Authorized Trainers and COPs Mauricio Velasquez and Sherry Jost from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn the steps in the outsourcing process and earn training credit toward certification or recertification.

Golf for a good cause

IAOP’s annual golf outing takes place from 12:30 to 5 p.m. at Falcon’s Fire Golf Club, recognized nationally as one of the finest public golf courses in Orlando. IAOP will donate a percentage of the golf outing proceeds to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Lunch and amenity bags are sponsored by Luxoft.

Get right down to business by honestly talking and debating the key issues that most impact you during focused roundtables from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Buyers and providers/advisors will gather with their peers in separate sessions moderated by experts to identify the most pressing topics that all stakeholder groups we delve into on Wednesday to close the conference.

Following lunch, the main session will start at 12:45 p.m. with welcome remarks by Debi Hamill, CEO of IAOP followed by opening comments from Megan Carlyle, Interim Head of the Office of O&T, Fannie Mae and chair of IAOP’s Strategic Advisory Board.

Inside the Minds

Ever wonder what keeps C-level executives up at night? Delve into the minds of CXOs during a panel discussion led by Atul Vashistha, COP, CEO of Neo Group and Supply Wisdom and sourcingboard.org founder, from 2:30 to 3:15 p.m. You’ll hear from Tiger Tyagarajan, CEO, Genpact; Suzanne  Leopoldi-Nichols, Head of GBS, ADM; Steve Rudderham, Vice President, Global Business Services, Kellogg; and David Brown, Global Lead, Shared Services and Global Advisory, KPMG. Automation, analytics and talent are some of the top trends that are tops in their minds in 2018 and beyond.

 

And what makes our industry’s Certified Outsourcing Professionals tick? Learn how they approach challenges, solve problems and tackle difficult questions. A rotating panel of COPs will answer audience questions during the Inside the Minds of COP session that follows from 3:15 to 4 p.m.

Networking Night

The social side of the Summit gets started with a welcome reception in the Global Services Mall hosted by Accenture from 5:30 to 7 p.m. All attendees are invited to the post-reception party hosted by Solix from 7 to 8 p.m., while COPs will be honored at a special invitation-only reception.

Keynote speaker Kevin Parikh, COP, CEO, Avasant is next on the agenda from 9 to 9:45 a.m. where delegates will hear his expert views on Digital Singularity: The End or a New Beginning? This session will explore society-wide solutions that the Digital Age demands and why humankind is better positioned to engineer those solutions than ever before.

Beyond Bitcoin: Blockchains

This two-part session from 9:45 to 11 a.m. will look at the potential revolutionary impact of blockchains on businesses. Participants will first hear the latest research findings from Dr. Mary C. Lacity, COP, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of Information Systems at the University of Missouri-St. Louis  (UMSL). The second part will feature Nilesh Vaidya, Executive Vice President, Capgemini sharing his views on how blockchains could shake up the financial sector.

Awards Luncheon

Our industry all-stars will be feted at a plated luncheon from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m. led by Master of Ceremonies, Eugene Kublanov, COP, Managing Director, Advisory, KPMG and an IAOP strategic advisory board member.  This special luncheon will pay tribute to our newest IAOP Leadership Hall of Fame inductees, our Global Impact Sourcing Award and Global Excellence in Outsourcing winners, and IAOP members of the year among other distinctions.

Kate Vitasek, Faculty, Graduate & Executive Education, University of Tennessee will share her research on Vested Outsourcing: Redefining Winning in Business Relationships from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Passionate in her quest to help companies transform their business relationships, Vitasek will inspire you to think differently about how you approach your outsourcing relationships. Attendees will walk away with five game-changing “rules” to help them improve their own outsourcing deals.

Sandbox Session

OWS18 comes full circle in this session that brings all stakeholder groups together to share the learnings, best practices, problems solved and ideas for the future culled from the opening day roundtable discussions. In this sandbox, everyone plays. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions of buyers, providers and advisors and successfully work together with no lines drawn.

Governance TODAY!

Hear from IAOP’s Strategic Advisory Board members on all things governance from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This final main session will be moderated by John Bree, SVP & Partner, NeoGroup and feature  Michael Nacarato, COP, Senior Director, Transamerica; Megan Carlyle, Interim Head of the Office of O&T, Fannie Mae; Donald Mones, COP, Director, MUFG Union Bank; and Ian Watt, Director, Wipro.

 

The panel will explore topics related to increasing scrutiny by regulators in the U.S. and globally of sourcing controls and governance as well as expanded requirements to cover internal sourcing providers.The panelists also will look at the impact of management board approved outsourcing strategies and  increased expectations that companies will incorporate continuous vendor lifecycle monitoring beyond initial risk assessments and episodic follow up reviews. Learn what has and hasn’t worked.

Parting Bites

The main Summit sessions will end with the Food For Thought Networking Luncheon from 12:45 to 2 p.m. when we say our goodbyes. Our COPs and those pursuing the certification will stay around for the Outsourcing Certification Primer and Application Overview, and COP Advanced Intensive workshops.
